The Kooks are an English indie rock band formed in Brighton, East Sussex in 2004. The band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Luke Pritchard, guitarist Hugh Harris and drummer Paul Garred.
The Kooks have released five studio albums since their formation, with their debut album Inside In/Inside Out (2006) reaching number two on the UK Albums Chart. Their follow-up album Konk (2008) reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and spawned the hit single "Always Where I Need to Be". The band's third album Junk of the Heart (2011) was also a commercial success, reaching number three on the UK Albums Chart and spawning the hit single "Junk of the Heart (Happy)".
The Kooks have achieved considerable success in the UK and Europe, with their singles "She Moves in Her Own Way", "Naïve", and "Ooh La" all reaching the top 10 of the UK Singles Chart. They have also achieved success in Australia, where their single "Shine On" reached number one on the ARIA Singles Chart.
The Kooks have toured extensively throughout Europe, North America, Australia, and Asia. They have also performed at numerous festivals including Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, T in the Park, and Lollapalooza.
