Usually when we think about the outstanding musical performers, we remember some popular singers that worked without any help. But if you try to find some popular collectives, you’ll see, there are many of them also. One of the best-known examples is, for instance, Depeche Mode.
Depeche Mode was founded in 1980 in Britain. They didn’t want to become “just one of the others” – no, they wished they could make something new in the field of music. Now we can see they managed to do that – today Depeche Mode is recognizable for their own style of mixing electronics and rock.
Vince Clarke and Andrew Fletcher gathered and organized the band called No Romance in China. Then after some time Martin Gore and Dave Gahan joined them, and the group changed its title for Depeche Mode. The success came in 1981 after the single “Just Can’t Get Enough”, which appeared on the eighth line of the UK Chart. There had also been two more hits before, but they were not so significant.
In 2010 Depeche Mode were claimed the band of the year, and in 2020 they were included into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, though the most commercially successful albums were released in the end of the 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s.
